Warranty Coverage – Second Shorts

We offer a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase, covering any manufacturing defects. Below are the types of issues that are excluded from this warranty:

Exclusions:

1. Accidental Damage:

Physical Impact: Any damage resulting from dropping or striking the product, such as the Smart Door Lock or Door Knob becoming cracked or misaligned due to impact.
Liquid Spills: Damage caused by excessive liquid exposure, including water or other substances affecting the Smart Door Lock's electronics or causing corrosion on Door Hinges.
Negligence: Improper handling that results in damage, such as forcing the Mechanical Interlock to operate under excessive weight or pressure beyond its designed capacity.

2. Misuse:

Improper Use: Using the Smart Door Lock without following installation and usage instructions or applying inappropriate force to Door Hinges or Door Knobs.
Unauthorized Modifications: Making any alterations or repairs to the Smart Door Lock's electronics, dismantling the Mechanical Interlock, or using non-approved replacement parts will void the warranty.
Third-Party Accessories: Using non-compatible batteries or power sources in the Smart Door Lock, or adding third-party components that interfere with the proper function of Door Hinges or Mechanical Interlocks.

3. Normal Wear and Tear:

Wear of Mechanical Parts: Gradual degradation, such as the loosening of Door Hinges, fading of Door Knob finish, or normal use affecting the performance of the Mechanical Interlock.
Consumable Parts: This includes the Smart Door Lock's batteries, which are consumable items not covered by the warranty unless the failure results from a manufacturing defect.
Surface Damage: Cosmetic damage, including scratches or discoloration, on Door Knobs, Door Hinges, or the Smart Door Lock, is considered part of normal wear.

4. Acts of God:

Natural Disasters: Damage caused by flooding, lightning, or other natural disasters impacting any product, including water ingress in the Smart Door Lock or warping of Door Hinges due to extreme conditions.
External Factors Beyond Control: Damage due to power surges affecting the Smart Door Lock or corrosion on Door Hinges caused by extreme or prolonged exposure to harsh environmental elements.
